Multifunctional Chlorine Tablets

Multifunctional Chlorine Tablets (swimming pool chemicals) are slow dissolving and act as a disinfectant, algaecide and flocculant in one. An improved version of the Maxi-Tab, these tablets still offer an easier way of maintaining chlorine levels are applied via the skimmer, floating dispenser or chlorine feeder (trichlorinator).

They have a higher pH value, which reduces the amount of pH regulation you need to do and as well as being stablised to reduce chlorine loss to sunlight they also contain clarifier and algaecides to help improve clarity and prevent algae formation.

Add 1 Multi-Functional Tablet to 45 cubic metres of pool water when used in the skimmer basket. Heavily used pools and those maintained at higher temperatures will require increased dosage. Test for actual requirements by using a poolside test kit, adjusting the dose rate as necessary to maintain a minimum free chlorine level of 1-3ppm.

Application Instructions

WARNING – DO NOT ADD DIRECTLY TO A POOL AND ALWAYS USE A CLEAN APPLICATOR AS BELOW WITH NO OTHER PRODUCTS PRESENT.

Skimmer: Place one tablet in the skimmer basket per 45,450 litres (10,000 gallons) and adjust tablet numbers as necessary to take account of your water flow to achieve 1–3 mg/l (ppm) relatively consistently.

Floating Dispenser: Fill the Trichlor floating dispenser with tablets and adjust the aperture mechanism at the bottom of the dispenser to obtain the 1–3 mg/l (ppm) desired range. Alternatively keep the dispenser aperture constant and vary the tablets inside to achieve 1–3 mg/l (ppm). The dispenser should be removed from the pool while swimmers are bathing.

Chlorine Feeders: Few feeders take this 200g tablet and the 20g smaller tablet may be required. As multifunctional tablets contain clarifiers these tablets are not generally considered suitable for feeders as clarifiers can block feed lines more readily due to clarifier build-up.

Note: It is recommended that you periodically (e.g. weekly/fortnightly) shock or oxidise your water, using Blue Horizons Pool Fusion, Granular Shock, Rapid Shock or Shock ‘n’ Floc.
